Mabuhay!

Today I’m blessing you all with information on where to find some delicious Filipino barbeque in Philly. To all my Filipinos and foodies out there, get your stomachs ready!

Pork Inihaw

Mommy Telly’s Famous BBQ is a food truck that serves Inihaw (Filipino BBQ). It is located on 30 N 33rd St. right by Drexel University’s Armory. The mouth watering smell of Inihaw makes it very hard to miss.

The food truck is operated solely by kuya Jay Encarnacion. The Inihaw is marinated in their secret family recipe so you already know you can’t get this anywhere else. He keeps it simple by serving only chicken and pork, but you can also order a combination of both meats. All meals are served with rice, onions and soy vinaigrette sauce. In addition, it is inexpensive! For only $5 or $6 you get a whole meal with a free water bottle.

"Authentic Filipino pork and chicken Inihaw. Once you try it, you’ll come back for more!" -Ersie Encarnacion Abejo

"It taste just like home" - Audrey Tibay

Kuya Jay is there everyday (except from when it’s raining) from 11 AM to about 4 PM. He stays until he sells out so there are days when he leaves earlier than 4 PM. For students, staff and anyone else in the area, it is a great spot to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. Every time I pass by on my way to class, there is always a line so make sure you come early enough to get some Inihaw!

Personally, 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Hangaan so muli,
